Alex Rodriguez
News: The New York Daily News reports that an upcoming book written by Selena Roberts claims that Alex Rodriguez may have bulked up with steroids as early as high school – and was suspected of juicing while playing for the Yankees. The book is written by Selena Roberts, a Sports Illustrated reporter who broke the story that A-Rod flunked a steroid test in 2003. Rodriguez has insisted that he used steroids only while with the Texas Rangers. Roberts also accuses A-Rod of “pitch tipping” when he was with the Rangers – letting a friendly opponent at the plate know which pitch was coming in lopsided games. As far as his recovery goes, the latest news is that A-Rod played in a minor-league intrasquad game Thursday. Peter Abraham of the New York Journal News reports that A-Rod went 1-for-6 with a home run and two walks. He did not run the bases at full speed, however, and when he homered, he did not run the bases.
