The improved control that Sanchez flashed in his prior three outings (21 IP, 2 BB) was nowhere to be found on Sunday, as he handed out five free passes for the third time this season. Owners of the rocket-armed lefty will hope that his setback against the A’s doesn’t carry over to his next start on May 29 at home against the D-backs.

Jonathan Sanchez

May 31st, 2009
Comments Off

Jonathan Sanchez has a poor showing against St. Louis on Sunday, giving up three runs off six hits and three walks with two strikeouts in 4.1 innings.

Our View: Sanchez was able to avoid the loss, though he still gave another reminder to his owners why he cannot be trusted as a fantasy starter. He’s still yet to make it through seven innings this season.
