I’ll cop to being a big Rasheed Wallace(notes) fan. Yeah, he’s totally frustrating, a pretty big waste of talent and generally petulant, but ever since a SLAM magazine cover story about 10 years ago for which he refused to be interviewed, I’ve been on board the Sheed train, which is a totally made-up thing I just invented. So when Doc Rivers drops the bomb that Wallace might have played his last game, I get the sads

News: Two newspapers are reporting the Celtics have reached an agreement with free agent Rasheed Wallace. Bill Strickland, Wallace’s agent, told the Boston Herald and the Boston Globe on Sunday night that the 34-year-old forward told him to call off meetings the agent was in the process of scheduling with the Magic, Spurs and Mavericks.

News: Pistons center Rasheed Wallace will have a new role when he returns to the floor Saturday night against the Sixers. Pistons coach Michael Curry said Wallace, who returns after serving a one-game suspension for picking up too many technical fouls, will be a reserve, reports mlive.com. That means Kwame Brown will remain with the first unit. Prior to the suspension, Wallace had missed 11 of the 12 previous games due to a strained left calf injury. While he is moving better, Curry said he still plans to limit Wallace’s minutes. “If I’m going to play Sheed limited minutes, I’d rather him be in a position where he could play in the fourth quarter,” Curry said. “Coming off the bench, right now while limiting his minutes, is probably going to be (for) the best.”

News: Detroit forward Rasheed Wallace returned to action Tuesday night against the Cavaliers after missing 11 games with a calf injury. Wallace was expected to come off the bench when the Pistons met the Cavaliers. He’s been out since March 9 when he hurt his left calf against Orlando.
